  1. A hot air balloon takes advantage of properties of properties of air by being blown by the wind to travel. Kaiden

  2. A hot air balloon relies on the wind for it to be able to be flown. If you try to fly a hot air balloon on a very windy day you will most likely crash or not be able to get up into the air. If you try to fly a hot air balloon on a day with wind but not too much, it will rise, fly and have a smooth landing, (as smooth as it can be for a crash landing) :oP Keiko

  3. A hot air balloon takes advantage of the properties of air by using hot air that rises to the top of the balloon, and gets trapped at the top of the balloon in order to rise. Then the balloon gets carried round by the wind. Victoria

  4. Someone a long time ago was watching paper floating while burning in the fire under the chimney. Can anyone remember who discovered this? Also, in the story, they flew hot air balloons in the morning because it was cooler, why? Randy

  5. The hot air balloon takes advantage of the properties of air by using the different densities of hot and cold air. Hot air is lighter than cold air so the hot air tends to go up (because it is lighter) therefore making the balloon fly. Alejandra

  6. The hot air balloon uses the hot air to rise and relys on the wind to move around. But if the wind is too great the landing won't be as nice. Eric

  7. There are some real valuable responses beginning to be shared here. Imagine, looking at paper buring in the fire place and a little bit of curiousity lead to great minds playing with the idea of air and flight. Who is the first recognized inventor of the hot air balloon? How does the hot air balloon use wind to its advantage?

  8. A hot air balloon takes advantage of properties
of air because an hot air balloon uses a renewab source of energy, also a property of air which is wind that helps a light object like a hot air balloon drift up into the air causing it to fly. Ravi

  9. In 1783 one of two french brothers saw paper flying up a chimany and wondered if it would apply to something bigger. So that's when they discovered how wind, some fabric and a hot air burner can help people fly. Michaela ;)

  10. A hot air balloon takes advantage of the properties of air because, a hot air balloon uses hot and cold air to it's advantage,(the hot air gets trapped in the balloon causing it to rise,) and to drift/blow in the sky, it uses wind.

  11. A hot air balloon takes advantage of the properties of air because for something light like a hot air balloon to fly it takes hot air so it can drift into the air.

  12. A hot air balloon takes advantage of air by the differences of temperature between hot and cold by hot air being lighter than cold so when you heat the balloons air it becomes hotter than it in real life except when it's summer. Quincy
